Abstract
Technology evolves almost everyday. Science educators must play an important role in preparing students to face 21st century challenges. Thus, this research aims to observe the mastery of 21st century skills among Standard 5 students in the process of teaching and learning Science. The method used was survey using questionaire as the main instrument. 60 students of a school in Batu Pahat, Johor were selected as research sample. This research focused on 5 components of 21st century skills namely digital age literacy, inventive thinking, effective communication, high productivity and spiritual aspect. Overall analysis shows that there is no significant difference among the students in their 21st century learning skills, regardless of their gender. The results of the analysis also found that there was a significant relationship between the perceptions of students towards science subjects with 21st century skills. Hopefully, this research will help educators, schools and Ministry of Education to formulate the strategies for improvement of 21st century science teaching and learning.
