Abstract

The study was conducted to examine the effectiveness of the playing method in strengthening the translation of the Arabic al-Quran translation from surah al-Fatihah among the 1st year students. Respondents of the study consisted of 231 students from three primary schools, namely SK Puncak Alam, SK Puncak Alam 2, and SK Puncak Alam 3. The study used a model adapted from the Kurt Lewin model. Three research instruments used were observation, pre-test, and post-test. The results of the initial study found that the students were still weak in mastering the translation of the Quranic language and were less active in learning. To overcome this problem, the researcher has implemented the method of playing through the software activity of Smart al-Fatihah (SaF). The findings showed positive changes in the students. At the end of the session, all students began to master the translation of the Quranic language from surah al-Fatihah at a satisfactory level. Students were more confident of getting involved in the activities being carried out. Additionally, students had also provided tremendous and comprehensive co-operation in teaching sessions in the classroom.

 

Abstrak 

Kajian ini dijalankan bertujuan untuk meninjau keberkesanan kaedah bermain dalam mengukuhkan penguasaan terjemahan bahasa Arab al-Quran dari surah al-Fatihah di kalangan pelajar Tahun 1. Responden kajian terdiri daripada 231 orang pelajar dari tiga buah sekolah rendah iaitu SK Puncak Alam, SK Puncak Alam 2 dan SK Puncak Alam 3. Kajian menggunakan model kajian yang diadaptasi daripada model Kurt Lewin. Sebanyak tiga instrumen kajian yang digunakan iaitu pemerhatian, ujian pra dan ujian pasca. Hasil tinjuan awal mendapati pelajar ini masih lemah dalam menguasai terjemahan bahasa al-Quran dan kurang aktif dalam pembelajaran. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, pengkaji telah melaksanakan kaedah bermain melalui aktiviti permainan perisian Smart al-Fatihah (SaF). Dapatan kajian menunjukkan perubahan yang positif pada pelajar. Di akhir sesi, kesemua pelajar mula menguasai terjemahan bahasa al-Quran dari surah al-Fatihah di tahap memuaskan. Pelajar lebih yakin untuk melibatkan diri dalam aktiviti yang dijalankan. Selain itu, pelajar juga memberikan kerjasama yang memberangsangkan serta menyeluruh pada sesi pengajaran di dalam kelas.
